Ian asked, "Then do you miss him?"
Anne Sutton nodded. "Yes. I miss him so much!"
That's why she'd taken such a liking to Ian.
After all, the resemblance between Ian and Nathan Fawcett was uncanny, and she found it hard not to see one in the other.
Ian said, "Why don't you just think of me as your own little boy! My mom doesn't like me anyway."
Anne laughed. "I don't think your parents would agree to that."
"Why not?" Ian said. "I've already agreed!"
Anne was deeply touched. "Thank you, Ian!"
Ian said, "Kisses!"
He leaned in and planted a kiss on Anne's cheek.
Anne couldn't sleep, and neither could Ian. She played with him in his room for a while before they went downstairs and out into the courtyard.
Luckily, Ian wasn't fazed by new environments. Even though it was his first day here, he seemed quite happy.
Anne sat on the steps, watching Ian as he stood by a flowerpot. He turned to her and said, "This flower is so pretty!"
Anne smiled. "You like it?"
