Anne Sutton raised an eyebrow. "Isn't this for your own good? She didn't want to leave, so I just let her stay. This gives you, her grandson, more time to be a dutiful grandson."
"You just enjoy going against me, don't you?" Charles Prescott stared at her, his eyes filled with resentment.
Anne Sutton wasn't afraid in the slightest and admitted it directly. "Yes! I do enjoy going against you. It's not like you just found that out today. You're the only thing on my mind now. Mr. Prescott ought to be pleased, right?"
"You're insane!" Charles Prescott looked at Anne Sutton, remembering how he had wanted to kiss her at noon, only to be interrupted by Ethan Linden's arrival. His mood was absolutely foul.
But now that she had Ethan Linden backing her up, there was nothing he could do. He stormed straight out.
