"..." Anne Sutton had been so busy with her own affairs these past few years that she'd barely kept in touch with her family and rarely saw Sharon Sutton.
Now that Sharon was pregnant and saying her boyfriend was someone Anne had met before, it took Anne a long time to recall who it might be.
There was only one of Sharon's boyfriends that she had ever met.
Anne Sutton asked, a little uncertain, "That Hayes fellow?"
Sharon Sutton said, "He's not a scumbag like he used to be. He's changed. He's a good guy, and he treats me really well."
'So, she'd guessed right!'
"..." Anne Sutton stared at her. Perhaps she was just being cynical, but she found it hard to believe that a man who had gotten another girl pregnant in the past could truly turn over a new leaf and become a decent person.
