At the thought, Anne Sutton's mood soured.
Anne Sutton woke up early. The first thing she did was check on Ian, waking him up to wash his face and eat.
Though Ian was just a little over three, he was very smart and seemed to know how to do everything.
He was standing alone at the small sink, holding a little towel and washing his hands.
They had installed the sink for the baby Anne had been carrying.
It was designed specifically for a child.
It was the perfect size for Ian.
Anne Sutton stood to the side, watching him act like a little grown-up. "Does Ian have class today?" she asked.
Even though Ian was staying with Anne and didn't have to go to school, he hadn't fallen behind on his lessons.
He still took some classes regularly.
Otherwise, he would get very bored at home all day.
Ian nodded. "Mhm! But after today, I don't have to anymore."
"Why not?" Anne asked, confused.
"I don't know," Ian said. "Daddy said so!"
