Gladiolus is a powerful country. It is known for its wealth and strong army. Its name comes from the Gladiolus family, who began ruling this auspicious land. But today, Gladiolus is in mourning because its strong leader died suspiciously. All the leaders until now were chosen by God; they were called descendants of God. However, because of the sudden death, there is no heir to take the throne.
To resolve this problem, priests from all over the kingdom were called—those who serve under the Gladiolus family and its alliances—to decide the next ruler.
Anemone, the priest of the Gladiolus family, arrived. He is one of the oldest and most respectable priests in the country. Everyone follows him; if he says something, it is considered law. The Gladiolus family has great faith in Priest Anemone because he helped them achieve prestige and honor and brought revolution to Gladiolus.
Today, in this dark time, Anemone came to resolve the issue. Without any delay or discussion, he announced the name of the next heir. But before that, the deceased king's wife, Violas, came onto the stage and announced herself as the new queen. Everyone started making noise and looked toward Anemone. She smiled and said, "Last night in my dream, the ancestors of Gladiolus came and said they want me to rule this nation. And before my husband died, he wrote a letter to this nation, and it is clearly written here that my wife Violas will be the next heir."
The priest could not say anything. The room was full of hundreds of men, all looking at each other, thinking, "Why is the priest silent?"
Priest Anemone finally broke the silence: "Start the ceremony of our new queen." This shocked everyone sitting in the room, but no one had the courage to go against his words.
The ceremony began. This was the first time in history that a woman became the leader.
Meanwhile, outside, it was getting darker, but the celebration had just begun. People from all over the country were arriving—some to oppose it, and some to witness history.
While everyone was confused about the situation, rumors began spreading about the deceased king.
Outside the palace, a little prince was sitting inside a chariot with his elder brother, who had come from the south to attend the ceremony.
The little prince saw a group of people from the Thistle section walking beside the road, looking down, as if they were not allowed to walk with their heads held high. Their clothes were clean but not shiny or expensive. Unaware of these differences, the little prince stepped out of his chariot when he saw a boy his age picking up an arrow from the ground, dressed in torn clothes. He ran toward him and said, "Can I play with you?"
They both smiled, but this startled everyone present. A voice came from behind: "Prince, you can't touch him." The next moment, a few men came and started beating the boy. The little prince couldn't understand what was happening and ran back toward his brother.
The Thistle boy was beaten by five grown men, while everyone around watched as if it were normal. Finally, a parent came to save the child, but they were also beaten.
The little prince was scared after seeing all this and asked his brother what was happening. His elder brother took the frightened child back into the chariot and said, "Thistle are inferior to us."
The little prince, still confused, asked naively, "Why?"
His brother, who did not know how to explain this to his six-year-old brother, replied, "Because God made us like that. Dianthus are priests; they are considered close to God. We Gladiolus are rulers chosen by God. Monarda run the economy. Attis are peasants. And Thistle are like slaves."
The little prince looked at his brother in confusion. "It's okay. Once you start going to school, you will learn about our history and laws."
