Work began immediately. A construction crew came and began digging next to the side of the Valentine Industries building.
They planned on constructing the generator into an underground room that's connected to the basement storage. The only problem was the location.
Ideally, Nick would've preferred building the generator room in the empty parking lot, but that's where he buried all the bodies of the Hand Ninja. He realized he'd soon have to deal with the bodies if he wished to build there. He could only build a long underground walkway that connects the storage room to the generator.
It took them a little ovee two months for the underground generator room and the cooling tower to be built. The tower was the size of a two-story building that let hot steam escape.
After that, they just had to install the cables that connected the generator to massive batteries and the entire project was complete.
During this time, Nick completed his first prototype wireless earbuds. They started off big and bulky. Due to it being a prototype, the earbuds looked janky, but they worked. The problem was the weight.
Putting the prototype earbuds in, Nick managed to connect to his laptop and listen to a video. Slightly shifting his head downward, the weight of the earbud caused it to immediately fall out.
Thankfully, Peter came by to help out his weight problem. He first questioned Nick about the construction workers, but when he told them about the Thermo Generator, he sounded excited.
Nick told him about the magical energetic properties of the Enchanted Uru, and Peter realized just how great the material was. They would essentially have free electricity for the rest of their lives!
Peter previously had a science fair that needed his full attention, but now he was back in full force. With Peter's genius combined with Nick's, the two managed to remove the unnecessary components on the earbuds and lowered their weight.
Everything was looking up for Nick. Gaining control over his bad luck had really allowed him to settle down and prosper, he could never had done this previously!
After a month, they managed to complete the finished Bluetooth product simply named VI BlueBuds, short for Valentine Industries Bluetooth earbuds. The only problem now was manufacturing.
Once again, Nick created the parts in China and sent them to an assembly line in America. It slightly increased the cost but slowed down his eventual knockoffs.
Nick knew eventually every company would copy his product, but before that happened, he wanted the world to associate wireless earbuds with his company!
The longer it is only his wireless earbuds on the market, the more his company will be associated with them! Thats why he'll initially have a substantial discount on them, barely gaining any money, but soldifying himself as the creator of the product which would eventually pay him back ones the discount is over.
With everything worked out, Nick had factories begin manufacturing them, and they were ready to be released after two months. He'd just needed the marketing team to start blasting ads all over the world before launching them.
Besides his earbuds, Nick had also improved on his drones. Micro began to settle into working for Nick. His family moved closer to the Valentine building for safety.
Micro's new identity was Dave Schmitt, and he was now Valentine Industries' lead Software Architect; it came with a high salary.
During that time, Micro managed to create multiple programs for Nick's attack drones. It was to the point that Nick felt confident he could use them in public without unintentionally harming anyone.
As the construction workers left for the final time, Nick walked into his Generator room and smiled, realizing he could now obtain infinite free electricity!
Nick began to turn the Generator on, opening valves to fill the room with water and placing his Uru into its slot, which lowered into the water.
The way the Generator worked was by having a closed-off circular tube with water inside it. The tube had vents that poured and extracted water to create a current within the tube. This water would be the main source of heat and would be in direct contact with the Uru.
The circular tube would then be submerged into a massive vat of water. The water within the tube would pass by the Uru and heat up, transferring its heat to the secondary water source and then circulating back to the Uru to heat up again. This repeats constantly until the secondary source of water gets hot.
Through this process, the secondary water source heats up enough to create steam that would push turbines that spun a generator and created the electricity!
The steam that exits the turbine would then go into a condenser and be turned back into hot water, which would then be shot out as a mist to cool down and collect to go back to the secondary water source with additional outside water.
Some of the water will have to be lost in order to cool everything down; this is the steam that left the cooling tower.
Looking at the first massive truck-sized battery showing that it was now at 2% from just a minute of charging, Nick's smile didn't leave his face. He used just the smallest piece of Uru to create this generator; he still had 57 more larger pieces!
Nick calculated that this Generator could easily create enough energy to power his building and recharge over 10,000 drones each day!
His Uru generator was essentially a miniature nuclear power plant, and the energy it produced was a testament to it!
'I don't want thousands of drones buzzing right next to the building in order to recharge. I should buy the surrounding abandoned buildings around here and convert them into Drone warehouses if it becomes successful.'
Nick didn't place all of his eggs in this Drone transport service idea. If the idea didn't pan out, he could still sell the Drones commercially to individuals. He would just use the surrounding buildings to expand his company building if it failed.
Looking at the time and seeing that it was already 11 p.m., Nick knew he wouldn't be able to talk to anyone about becoming their transport service.
"Most of my games have come out and started blowing up. The people buying shares of those gaming companies think that these companies can create more games just as good, not realizing a third party essentially created the game and they just animated it. I'll need to pull out my stock when they're at their peak." Nick opened up one of his mobile games, Clash Royale, on his phone.
This was Nick's favorite game in his past life, and it was perfectly recreated in this one. Nick began playing a match when suddenly there was a large crash and the sound of glass shattering broke the nightly silence!
Immediately closing out of Clash Royale, Nick opened up an app simply called Drone Control and immediately turned on his drones to patrol the buildings.
Hearing the whirl of his surrounding drones booting up, Nick immediately heard the sound of suppressed gunshots coming from his drones as figures finally entered the range of Nick's echolocation.
As they got close to the Research Lab, they were immediately sprayed with a round of bullets from three drones. All 8 figures dropped to the floor from the accurate attacks of the drones, but Nick saw something strange!
Those 8 figures on the floor were still moving! As one tried to stand up, Nick's drone immediately sprayed the figure with bullets once again, causing it to collapse to the floor.
Not knowing what was going on, Nick had to see for himself. He opened the doors of his lab and jogged over to the downed figures. As he rounded the corner, one of the drones trained its barrel at Nick, but it immediately registered his face and once again aimed at the downed figures.
As he got close enough, one of the figures swiped its hand at Nick, trying to grab him, only for Nick to casually lift his leg to avoid it. Looking at the face of the downed figure, Nick saw a pair of fangs inside the man's mouth.
"Vampires?"
