A palace servant came to deliver the message shortly after breakfast, informing the twins that His Majesty wished to see them and that Elder Yanshu had already agreed.
Neither of them seemed particularly surprised. Emperor Zhao was their maternal grandfather, and this was their first visit to the Kingdom of Yan. It was only natural that he would want some time with them.
Not long after the twins left, a series of knocks sounded from Lily's door.

Lily immediately recognized Bai Yichen's voice.
"What?" she asked as she peeked under the bed.
She had been looking for Silas since she woke up but couldn't find him anywhere. He wasn't beneath the bed, inside the wardrobe, near the window, or anywhere else she had thought to check.
Lily straightened.
Where had that little lizard gone this time?
"Come out. Let's go around the palace."
Lily glanced around the room one last time before opening the door.
