I woke up to the sensation of someone's gaze fixed on me, my eyelids sealed shut. Slowly, I opened my eyes, attempting to clear my blurry vision. A man stood
before me, staring blankly. Fear took hold of me, and I flinched, backing away along the icy floor. It was the same man from the day before, perched in front of me once again. His habit of watching me sleep was more than unsettling.
"Who are you?" I asked, my voice barely audible. He said nothing, merely continued his unwavering stare. Though he was even more captivating in the daylight, I could not bring myself to focus on his features, too many unanswered questions nagging at me.
"Did you sleep here?" he finally broke the interminable silence, continuing to fix his gaze upon me. My discomfort grew, and I stood abruptly, eager to escape his presence.
