Chapter 591 - Chapter 591: The Bunker

The children were quick to regroup and see what Stolas found: A door. It was molded around the clay and colored so as to be mistaken by everything else, only found by using the stars to heat up the environment. Such heat would've usually crumbled and break away, though the same couldn't be said for the metal itself. Once Stolas found the door, all it took was one strong shot to blast whatever lock or protection was originally there to give them a full opening. Just as they were about to descend, however...

FWOOOOSH!!!

The Sun arose.

Immediately a wall was placed up, multiplying its size to guarantee protection against the light and its effects. Looking through the book again, he'd notice that Mephisto, the monster he summoned, was carrying all three bodies while under its devastating ray, the metallic frame melting into the beast and warping it into something else. Even when it wishes to scream as its body changed and corrupted itself, it refused. It would rather die than let the summoner, the Child whom it was supposed to watch over, suffer and hear his thoughts aloud. The energy from Kabanaska was being absorbed into the sun itself, channeling more and more power, collectively causing more and more pain and mutations within the Devil of Destiny. Harvard immediately decided to cast Lemegeton and insert Fusion as its bullet, firing a shot directly towards it once it got close enough for shade, fearing for its life as much as his own.

As he fired the bullet, however, it also undergone metamorphosis.

The energy within the bullet changed trajectory, missing the shot entirely, hitting into the walls of the Castle instead. Because of there being no targets, it whiffs. The Sun was being an active detriment on the body inside and out. Even things that would come out of it would be corrupted and discarded as mere scrap. Mephisto served its purpose well, despite the horrid state of such a frame being littered with eyes, mouths, and web-like plasma to act as veins binding his many arms, converting it into a homuculi-like humanoid than a Demon. The other three, however, remained unaffected, albeit damaged by the strong rays left behind. Whatever monsters it makes must be immune to the sun's mutation, though as a result would most likely leave it vulnerable for any other effect the ball of gas is willing to cause and destroy with. Harvard needs to know what's going on, even if it means disregarding the Bunker for now. "Let's get them and drag them inside." He'd demand, to which his friends would hesitantly agree, though Applin would mostly try to sneak by and hide within the Bunker itself, if anything than to avoid the severe burns she endured from before.

Solomon would prepare Might of Samson and push the massive wall made to act as cover. Stolas and Zazel, meanwhile, would follow Applin and keep her safe, the latter creating a bunch of sigils and layering them to become one big mass of colors. Such a mass would mostly result in no Goetia being summoned, but the mass itself can be a good block when coupled with something like Sabnock to make a shield, acting as the lid to keep them safe from the light. The two others, meanwhile, slowly inched their way to the four, having Harvard return Mephisto back into his card self and bring the other three behind the barricade. Three potions would be delivered to the two, as well as some effort in cutting off Fenrir's wirings to ensure the beast can properly bite again. Eustace would have his eyes drawn awake once he realized he was back in the land of the living, the massive shadow left behind and the light above shooting his eyes open as he recognized what it was. "It's alive... The Second Sun..." He'd mumble, as he'd try to get up and recall his blade back, attempting to cut into Harvard's body so he can extract whatever negative emotions he may have and weaponize it to become its doppelganger with the blade.

As the Light shone, however, it began to dim away, sinking back down and lowering itself into the Kingdom. The attack has went past without any trace left behind. The nightmare was over proper, the creak of the shield as a signal for the three to leave. The children looked amongst one another and knew fully well any attempt to investigate now would cause massive problems ahead of time. They would need to attack at a proper moment, one in which they wouldn't be bombarded so suddenly by the sun's rays, and when they are given their maximum energy to fight for their lives if given the chance. Despite this, Eustace was very adamant about the door, rushing ahead and trying to launch himself inside, though a quick Monster Seal would snag the Knight and pin him down. "WHY!? We have the entrance right before us! We can attack now and-" He'd ramble, but Solomon was quick on giving his assessment.

"That sun was able to eat away Harvard's Monster and Magic in one go. It's not just targeting the body, its targeting what comes out of it as well. If we try to go in there now, there's a high chance we'd be mutated if that Sun is inside." The Biblical Sorcerer's words struck like an arrow to the Knight of Shadow's heart, yet still he relented.

"You can't possibly mean to abandon it NOW! With everything I've done up to-"

"We're not. We're also not gonna get ourselves killed here."

"Can't you just be protected under the shadows? Can't you use the same magic I wield? What's stopping you from merely hiding away and slipping through within its darkness!?"

"Let's answer that with our own: What makes you think they don't have an answer to that? You were stuck here for how long, exactly? With that given time, they could have precautions to our Magic."

"And the boy with the cards?! Can't he just-"

"Will a new card and give us the answer? Yeah, he can. Again, though, it can target things made OUT from the body. It could just as easily break his entire deck if eighty percent of it is his own. With what we're dealing with, we need that extra percent here." The Knight went silent as he realized there was no arguing here, especially with such new information he didn't knew was possible. They want to be prepared as much as they could, even with the boons they have. They don't want to risk losing it all at once.

"If anything, it also means I can bond again with my little Applin. I don't mind the extra time." Fenrir asked, to which stunned the children a bit.

"With me?? I don't know you, though!" Applin retorted, her eyebrows raised as if she was being targeted for no reason.

"Well that's no way to speak to your father like that! Where's those manners I gave you?"

"Well excuse me for facing the su-. . ."

"MY WHAT!?!?!?!?!"
