"Well, recovery has been doing well, I'd say. Heartbeat is regular, as is their breath. Cognition seems to be stable after such immense stress on the body. They seemed to gave away almost their entire life out of this... 'disaster', you called it?" A doctor asked as he was doing his check up. A Demon with onyx black skin and small horns breathing heavily in a nasal mask, regulating his energy and his body functions, his skin sensitive to the touch. A young child with puffy hair was also seen here, breathing the same gas.
Zazel Cal'cul and Harvard Helsing.
Any form of contact is strictly forbidden, providing glass walls to let people see through, but also to block out any pathogens that may enter inside. Any change in temperature is immediately regulated in the case of something like extreme heat or cold, their bodies twitching at the slightest change. Their friends watch on through the glass as they see the boys flinch at those changes, the beds quickly accommodating whenever there was a slight disturbance that increased their heart rate, their chests physically beating whenever it was felt. Solomon and Stolas can't help but be terrified at such a scene, looking amongst one another as they try to see if they can cast anything to help them in their time of need, yet every chance they raised their hands, the observant doctor was quick to raise his own and have them stand down. Applin would grip at her hammer tightly, her breath stale as she tries to keep her composure, with Fenrir nudging beside her, letting her hold him if she needs to de-stress. Tsukiya and Enenra looked on to the two in winces and regret, wondering if they were able to pitch in, before the Living Gas spoke up to break the silence. "Pretty much... any chance they're able to come back soon or...?"
"Negative. With how much energy they placed themselves in, they'd need a lot of physical therapy for them to even FEEL their bodies. Not to mention the circulation of energy needed so they can properly cast magic again. Those types of recovery would take months usually, maybe even a year if one's focused on it."
"We can't just cast magic on them and call it a day?"
"The way they destroyed their bodies is by dismantling the nerves first, then the muscles and flesh second. With how they were recovered, the Nerves would return first just as much. If one were to try to cast magic on something this exposed, even if its a light breeze, would undergo an immense shock. It's overstimulation that we cannot risk, even if one were to have a solution at hand. The body needs to get used to the recovery first before going such extra lengths. As said, that could take months."
"So that's it? They're out of commission, then? What about Koina? Didn't she suffer something similar?" Solomon spoke up, to which the Doctor was hesitant on answering. "Well!? What about Koina??" He'd speak again, this time with the others looking directly at him in search for that answer.
"Koina... is a harder subject. Yes, it is true she's going to recover much faster, what with the new prosthetics we gave her. However, to give her REAL arms would require to take the cells of the pre-existing ones and enhance it to undergo a rapid growth of mitosis. To give her what's essentially regeneration would require her to be conscious AND patient enough to let the growth occur. It isn't something as similar as utilizing whatever that Card Child was capable of with this 'Monster Magic' you spoke about. Maybe if he was awake, he could donate such cells to Koina, but that would require waiting for him to even wake up and function properly first. She'll be able to recover fast with our own arms, but to give back the ones she lost, you're gonna have to wait a while."
"That... doesn't make sense though." Solomon was quick to interject, as he'd check through his book and look through the multiple stories, with Shady forming and slipping under the glass to check on the two. "...We were able to heal Koina just fine with the Garden. Shouldn't be that hard to like... take one of Harvard's cards, take the cells from those, and bring her back up to snuff, right?"
"And what, surgically CUT INTO HIM? When his body is barely able to handle basic SUNLIGHT? You're seriously expecting too much out of this child-"
"He can handle it just fine! We've seen it! He's endured WAY worse than-"
"No, and that is final. I get it, you want to see them better, but you're gonna have to spare some time- HEY!" His attention was quickly caught on by the living Shadow, quickly setting up a seal in the glass to both catch and push him out, much to the annoyance of Shady. Solomon was reeling him back as much when he noticed the intrusion, moreso once the Doctor began to set up some tethers in the glass itself to prevent magic from coming inside, almost as if the spells were woven into like a quilt. A set of String Magic capable of entering the spells themselves, no less. While the performance was mesmerizing, watching the Doctor stitch it all away, a quick burst through the door catches the group's attention. Such attention quickly turned to ire the second they knew who it was.
"Heya!" Adel announced, his messy hair in tatters and having twigs stick out of it. "What did I mi- GAH!!" His voice was caught as soon as Enenra gripped him by the throat and let the children quickly jumped him, letting go as they tackled him on the ground.
"I'm going to assume you want to rip my throat?" Adel asked, coughing a bit as he tried to keep his keen smile, much to the anger of the children.
"IN A WAY, YES!! WHERE! THE! HECK! WERE! YOU!??!" Every shout was delivered with Solomon slamming Adel into the ground and Stolas punching his head in, veins visible on their heads.
"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT! RELAX!! Sheesh... I'll explain everything, okay?"
"Ten minutes. You pass that time, I WILL KILL YOU!!"
