As she spoke, she suddenly laughed, "I suddenly feel that life is quite peculiar. Elyssa never had a chance of winning. She's a born loser even before it starts!"
Linda Stuart understood the implications behind her words and asked, "What do you mean by that?"
"You'll know soon enough, Mom. Now let me call Robin Reade and give him the heads up."
Then, she dialed Robin's number.
