Edward Anderson never expected Bella Scott to be so heartless.
He stared at his darkened phone screen, wanting to call back but remembered Bella was at The Hernandezs. If Linda Stuart had come out just now, it would be normal for Bella to hang up.
If his guess was correct, calling her back now would definitely be discovered...

As Bella hung up the phone, Linda Stuart walked over, "Give me your phone."
Bella's heart raced, her face innocent as she asked, "What does mom want to do?"
"Give me your phone." Linda Stuart said calmly, taking Bella's phone from her.
Bella didn't have time to delete the call log before Linda appeared. If Linda called back and Edward picked up, wouldn't their cover be blown?
She was anxious but dared not show it on her face.
"Mom isn't checking up on me, right?" Bella joked, but her heart was uneasy.
"Yes, I am checking up on you." Linda Stuart said as she dialed the previous call.
