It was not until evening that Tina Hernandez called Miss Stuart, claiming that she suddenly had to go on a business trip to Vineland, so she wouldn't be able to come home for the next two days and would only be back in West Grove on Monday.
She couldn't say she needed to work overtime again, or else Miss Stuart would go to the company and find out she was lying.
Telling her that she was going on a business trip was the best excuse, so Miss Stuart couldn't find any faults with it.
After hanging up the call, Linda Stuart looked doubtful and turned to ask Bella Scott: "What's been going on with Tina lately? She either comes home late or not at all, and now she won't even come home on the weekends, saying she has to go on a business trip. Is this believable?"
Bella Scott was also puzzled. She remembered the night she herself didn't come home, making up lots of excuses.
Could it be that Tina was lying, just like her, to have alone time with Robin Reade?
