Flynn Taylor quickly put on a mask and replied, "It's probably just a mild illness, nothing to worry about. Anyway, you'd better stay away from me just in case."
Lucas Hutt didn't say anything more.
Not until after breakfast, when Flynn was sitting on the couch and resting with her eyes closed, did he notice her flushed face and somewhat hazy expression. He touched her forehead and found it quite hot.
"I'll take you to the hospital!"
Flynn opened her tired eyes, shook her head and said, "I'm fine. I've got an important meeting today. I can just take a nap in the car, and I'll be alright."
"You're seriously ill and still insisting everything's fine?" Lucas looked at Flynn incredulously.
But Flynn continued to insist she was fine, saying she couldn't hold him up.
Under Flynn's insistence, Lucas still took her to the company.
Afterward, Flynn toughed it out and managed her work meticulously despite her discomfort. Lucas watched it all, feeling both worried and guilty.
