Is anybody else getting bored of reading the same couple of styles of stories over and over again?
Cause I am.
Whether it's about a movie franchise,
A comic universe or anime,
Whether it's a Si or OC or a canon character,
It's always either weak to strong trope,
Revenge trope,
Hero/anti-hero,
Villain/anti-villain,
Or business tycoon.
C'mon, i am sure most of us want to explore the world and see all this world has to offer,
We want to meddle in things, right the wrongs, and what not but we can't, not in reality atleast.
But in a fanfic?
Where the main character is either inserted or reborn?
With memories or even vague senses of his past life?
Most of the times with supernatural powers or eldritch systems?
And what does he/she do?
Nothing that hasn't been done millions of times,
They make a particular City thier nest, most of the time the one where they first got a sense of the situation and then the same drivel starts.
Why? Why not just go out and explore everything you wanted to see and more?
Working odd jobs or enquiring funds isn't hard with powers,
you can go places regular people can't,
take risks others cannot.
So why not explore the wonderful world?
(If it's a modern setting even better)
Go liberate North Korea,
Destroy the terror cells in Middle East,
Empty the British Museum and return everything to thier rightful places,
Eradicate the African warlords/ soumali pirates/ small time dictators,
Destroy the South American drug cartels,
Help the people in the remote areas to build shelter,
Deliver/hunt large quantities of foods and medicines and clothes to people living in jungles, desserts, snowy areas,
Clean the Oceans,
Find precious minerals around volcanoes,
Mine asteroids,
Hell go and play with children's on the Street,
Sit with the grandpa's talking about the good old days,
Help a granny cross the street.
And any villain or low life stupid enough to get in your way
Put them down hard and turn them into fossil fuels
Let them contribute atleast something to Mother Earth.
