Dr. Evans was in his office when I found him, reviewing charts. He looked up as I entered, and one glance at my face made him set down his pen immediately.
"Alayna. What happened?"
I closed the door behind me. "We need to call an emergency meeting. All department heads. Pediatric specialists. Toxicology. ICU leads. Everyone."
He stood slowly. "What's this about?"
"Twelve children," I said, my voice steady despite everything. "Poisoned. Deliberately. Used as test subjects in an experiment. Six more are still alive, and we need to find them and treat them. The people responsible are in custody, but their victims are still out there."
