Noel PoV
He looked at me, confusion and rage warring in his eyes. He was a fish out of water, a warrior in a world of numbers and negotiations. He was out of his depth.
"This is a coward's trick!" he roared, but he remained stuck. "A true warrior faces his opponent on equal footing!"
"Equal footing?" I laughed. "You call this equal footing? You with your fancy armor and your gravity powers. I gotta use this brain of mine to even the odds." I stared at the abacus. "Time's running out, Emissary. How many beads do you think are on that thing? Give it a guess."
He eyed it, then me. He was trying to find a weakness in my Domain, a loophole he could exploit. But he wouldn't find one. I had made sure of that.
He sighed and tried to do the impossible. "One thousand."
I shook my head. "Wrong."
He looked down. The beads on the abacus started to move on their own, forming a new pattern. "You dirty trickster! There are more beads now than before!"
