Vadim had overeaten once again and had to be taken to a room to rest, his face pale as he clutched his stomach while Amelia tried to hide her amusement.
"I told you not to challenge him to another eating contest," she whispered, helping him toward a side chamber as guests giggled.
The Shadow Knight, usually so composed and formidable on the battlefield, now looked thoroughly defeated by bowls of udon. Raiki was in a similar state, having lost to Eijiro.
Amaya sighed at Raiki.
Eizan was fine, though he looked smug, leaning against a pillar with arms crossed over his chest, a self-satisfied smirk playing on his lips as he watched his rival being escorted away. "Some things never change," Eizan remarked to Kira, who merely shook her head with an exasperated smile.
Vadim's mother shook her head at the Shadow Knight. "Vadim, when will you learn?"
"He never changes, Mom. He has always been this childish," a girl said, stepping into the room alongside Noel and Eumhun.
