Eizan PoV
[Some days later]
Kina stared at her mother as they and Eijiro sat in the library. Kira was reading a book to them about a prince who rescued a princess from an evil wizard. It was a simple story, but Kina seemed to enjoy it. Her eyes sparkled with wonder and excitement.
Eijiro had already heard this story before, but he didn't mind listening to it again. He liked spending time with his sister and mother, especially now that they were expecting another child.
He looked at his mother's belly.
Kira gasped and dropped the book. "I think I felt something."
I rushed to her side and put my hand on her stomach. "What is it?"
She winced. "It might be time."
My heart skipped a beat. I lifted her into my arms and said to the kids. "Eijiro, look after Kina. We'll be back soon."
They nodded, their eyes wide with curiosity and concern.
I carried Kira to the bedroom, where we had prepared for the delivery.
