Bulgae PoV
I knelt between her legs on the massive bed of black silk and furs, my hands steady even though my heart was pounding like war drums. Ramona lay back against the pillows, her fluffy white hair damp with sweat, breathing through another contraction. My tail was wrapped tightly around her thigh, anchoring her, anchoring me.
She was doing this. My mate. My lamb. Bringing our blood into the world.
I kept one hand on her belly, feeling the pups shift beneath her skin. My other hand stayed between her legs, ready. I wasn't going to just watch. These were my pups. She was me mate. I would help bring every single one of them into this world with my own hands.
"They're coming," Ramona whispered, voice tight but calm. "I can feel the first one…"
"I've got you," I growled softly, red eyes locked on her face. "Push when you need to. I'm right here."
The first ripple came strong.
