Amaya PoV
"Kazuo!" I yelled, swinging my fan to intercept her ice. As the two attacks flew, a third struck inbetween, sending the ice back at Hyona.
Hyona leapt back and gasped.
Kazuo and I looked over our shoulder and gasped as well. It was his father, Shun.
"Dad?" Kazuo said, stunned. "You're moving again? But Eizan severed Reginald's power."
He hummed and stepped forward. "Indeed. It is puzzling. Before I awakened, I heard the voice of his runt."
"His runt? Vadim?" I asked, puzzled. Wasn't he fighting Setsugen by the lake?
Hyona rushed at Shun with her spear, her teeth clenched. "How are you still alive, you monster?" she roared, her earlier calm melting into raging fury.
Frost erupted along the shaft of her spear, jagged needles of ice weeping from the steel as she drove the point straight for his throat.
He caught the spear with his barehands and tilted his head. "And you are?"
