Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 132 - Their First Trial
Apollo asked the man ,"Are you sure we shouldn't start training now?(I don't even know your name)" The man answered ,"Oh it'll be fine, we'll do some training on the way around the planet." As they walked Apollo talked to the man ,"So what's your name? If you don't mind me asking?" ,"Me? I'm Evan Trunsworth, I'm a squad leader, I'm yours right now. I got transferred after you guys came here because I'm unofficially the best squad leader there is!" Cias laughed in his head (This guy's ego is also unofficially the best). Evan looked at them ,"Alright guys you ready to get to some combat training!" Everyone looked at each other, he was such an excitable person, they all nodded in agreement and said ,""""Yes sir.""""
Apollo was sent in a direction and was told to take down the reigning predator in the area. Supposedly it was something of a chameleon crocodile hybrid type beast called a leonoc. He walked around and observed his surroundings from the top of a tree. He observed some of the creatures surrounding him. They were like animals he saw in the 3rd dimension, but were just ever so slightly off. Such as wolves with 2 sets of teeth and 6 legs, or squirrels with the ability to fly with their physicality. They were just enough of the previous animals to identify them as such but they just weren't the same.
Just then, he started absorbing all the sound and his presence as much as possible, mixing his aura to his environment to appear invisible at that moment. Whatever sound he did make he instantly absorbed the energy back into himself in order to remain as silent as possible. Just then, a bird came and sat on him, the bird not caring one bit of what he was (Oh come on, shoo, when I move you're going to sound off like an airhorn). After about 5 minutes of waiting, he sighed and decided to just let it go.
… He heard a sound coming from below him, he sensed his prey. He waited patiently for it to be under him, the chameleon distortions on its body wouldn't fool him. In an instant, he stepped off of the branch and summoned Akarui and flipped the katana to face downwards, he brought the katana up and let the blade fall on the creature's head STIK. He saw blood but the thing was wriggling around underneath him, it wasn't dead and the blade didn't fully puncture. He took out his sword and attempted to stab it again when the leonoc barrel rolled and Apollo jumped off. His mind was empty, removed of all thoughts in order to fight.
The leonoc charged at Apollo, trying to bite at his leg, but Apollo shifted to the side after reading its ki. Apollo didn't find this fight hard in the slightest. He imbued his sword with Art: Water and continued it with Water Wave. Just as the beast opened its mouth the water dug into the back of its mouth, creating a 4 inch penetration that caused its jaw muscles and bones to snap CRACK POP. The leonoc panicked and used its ability to change the colors of its body to mask its existence, or so it thought. As it was running away Apollo was running straight at it, keeping up and getting closer. As hard as it tried, it couldn't outrun or outskill a master SLASH, its head was cut clean off with a Water Wave. Apollo flicked his sword to the side and dismissed it. He grabbed the head and started heading back into the direction where Evan had sent him.
The Water Waves took a lot out of him, about 2/5ths of his power was used, he was surprised. He used to be able to do so many of them, but just doing the bare minimum of the art caused his spirit to grow tired, not that it affected his body, but it definitely showed how strong he was before (Although I'm even stronger now, even if it doesn't really feel like it. It's a good thing I focused on my technique and foundation as a fighter). As soon as he got back to Evan he saw Noah, Cias and Devan walking back at the same time ,"I'm glad you guys all made it, we can get back to walking! Oh you guys can just throw the heads off to the side, I'm sure they'll get eaten before nightfall." Evan said excitedly ,"I guess I'm going to have to find some harder foes for you guys to face!"
