Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 144 - Not Easy to Kill
Apollo's eyes died more and more with each floor he went to, through complex rooms of the complex tower. The higher he got, the stronger everything got, but so did he. That wolf that he defeated at the beginning of the tower was at the power level of an average creature this high up, and he was slicing through them like they were butter. He was forged through battle, and this tower was the best forge.
Apollo thought to himself (Tired, I just want to be home…)
His arms fell to his side. 4 giants fell in front of him, He summoned his sword and walked to the other side of the room. The giants stood in place and Apollo didn't even blink. The giants then heard the sound of the Weapon that appeared out of nowhere clink shut and they all fell to the ground in pieces. Apollo's mental capacity was failing and he didn't know what to do anymore, this place was just too big and he didn't even know how long he was in here for.
(I have to continue, Mr. Herits, Hiroto and Dad would do the same.) He held the belief that if he held out for just a little bit longer he could be out of this place, but that time was not coming.
Apollo wanted to cry but his body, covered in the fear of not coming home stopped him from doing so…
Cias sliced through the foe in front of him with his spear with anger gripping his heart. Evan had taught his team how to sense the Teleport spell so that he could deal with it for his team, but that didn't make anything better. Cias was terrified, he had never lost a friend like this.
(Apollo can be dead and I can't even do anything about it,) Cias thought.
Cias was dealing with the inner turmoil of possibly losing his best friend, and it wasn't just Apollo getting increasingly stronger, it was also Cias.
Evan Trunsworth spoke ,"Make sure to scrape the whole layer for the key to the next. Cias, get some rest, you need it."
Cias nodded at the man but behind his eyes was a determination to kill the thing that created this tower. Fear and anger intertwined as he lay down on the ground to regain the power that he lost from the battle. It was hard to go to sleep but eventually he was able to. In his dream he saw Apollo across a void, looking opposite him. Suddenly, he woke up, sweating.
Evan looked over ,"You're awake finally, it's been 15 hours."
Cias glanced at his leader ,"That long? we should get going."
Evan nodded ,"It's time to defeat the final adversary of this layer."
Cias and Evan walked towards the open room and they both released their auras as the center of the room held two possessed suits of armor, one of them was made of stone and the other was made of steel, both wielding crimson red swords.
Evan looked at Cias ,"You take the steel."
Cias nodded ,"Yes sir."
Cias lunged at the monster in front of him, the monster swung it's sword down, and Cias twirled his spear and deflected the slash CHINK. He went to the side of the monster and exploded in flames that mixed with the gold of his aura. The golden flames licked at the suit of armor, causing it to become bright red. The knight immediately disengaged, dashing backwards as it swung its sword to sent Wind Waves directly at Cias.
(Looks like this thing has a form of intelligence.)
Cias spun his spear in hand and immediately deconstructed the Wind in front of him. He summoned Flame Spears all around him and launched them at his adversary, except only some of them directly hit the armor. The armor glided on the ground with minor wounds inside of him and he charged at Cias. The armor stabbed at Cias, Cias deflected the sword by raising his spear TINK STIK. Cias was stabbed by an extra blade that the monster had. He backed away and pulled out the blade to heal his soul and regain control over the fight. The armor was hit in the back, Cias had sent a very intense amount of power into the Flame Spears that had missed from earlier and made them come right to the back of the armor, he concealed their presence perfectly. The blow sent the armor flying directly at Cias and he pulled his spear back and flung it forwards right at the moment of impact KABOOM. The flames and physical strength he possessed destroyed the armor.
After Cias was done he looked over at Evan…
Evan faced his opponent and Arts started appearing all around him in the form of swords of every type of element. This type of attack was made to find the direct weakness of the monster in front of him. The Quison projectiles hit their target and exploded. Evan wanted to locate the source of its weakness, but the stone creature ultimately crumbled before any additional damage was needed, the stone armor set was simply out of his league…
Cias was dumbfounded ,"You just watched me fight?!?"
Evan was confused ,"You wanted to get stronger, this is how you get stronger. Two souls clashing in combat is the greatest way to earn strength."
Cias couldn't deny this claim, he'd been told this many times, even by Hiroto whom he trusted the most with his training (If only he were here…)
He smiled and walked over to Cias ,"We will find him, he's not weak. I would say his and your adaptability is some of the craziest I've ever seen. He'll be stronger than ever once we see him next."
Cias looked up at Evan, smirking ,"You're right, he's not that easy to kill after all."
