"Yes." Joanna nodded. "That's how it is. So you don't have to be upset about their breakup."
They were never really together, so there was no breakup.
"It turns out I got happy for nothing." Madam White felt uneasy after learning the truth. "I thought Gary finally had a girlfriend, and there was hope for him to get married. Once he got married, I wouldn't have to worry about his lifelong affairs."
"But everything is fake. I thought Diana Kinsman was a very nice girl and told your dad that we could be at ease with her and Gary together. I never expected that she was aiming for the Heath family."
"Mom, when Gary meets someone he truly likes, he will definitely bring her home for you and Dad to see." Joanna saw that her mother was feeling down, held her hand, and softly comforted her. "Fate can't be forced. Perhaps Gary's true love will appear soon."
