Matatabi blinked and replied, "Understood, Lord Charles."
Though Matatabi didn't fully grasp Charles's intentions, Charles was well aware that Tailed Beasts' power could be enhanced.
Even though each beast was already at full strength upon acquisition, merging duplicates of the same Tailed Beast would significantly amplify its power.

Agent Coulson, desperate to save Fitz, had learned that the substance that saved his own life came from alien tissue. In the process, the Tahiti project facility was destroyed, though Fitz's life was spared.
Yet, Coulson remained uncertain whether his actions were right or wrong.
At the same time, Lorelei of Asgard secretly arrived on Earth through an undisclosed portal.
Coulson, meeting with Agent Sitwell in a parking lot, leaned against a car window.
"You know," Sitwell said, lowering his window, "when people ask for help from friends, they usually make it worth their while. Dinner at a fancy restaurant, maybe a bottle of good wine."
Coulson joked, "What's next? A movie date?"
Smirking, Sitwell replied, "Alright, but I have to ask first—what's this about?"
Coulson, adjusting his sunglasses, answered, "I need to know where Fury is."
Sitwell sighed, "You don't think he'll just pop up unless he wants to be found, do you?"
After a pause, he added, "And hey, remember when you pulled a vanishing act too? By the way, how's Tahiti?"
Coulson's expression turned grim. "Awful."
Unimpressed with the lack of details, Sitwell drove off, leaving Coulson to ponder his next steps.

Simmons interjected, "These readings match the ones recorded by Dr. Selvig and Dr. Foster in New Mexico and London. It means… an Asgardian is coming."
