"I'm crippled, and still he seldom comes to see me. Just because that bitch Paige Desmond likes spicy lotus root slices, he actually went to the kitchen for her..."
The Queen Mother heard that Kiya personally cooked spicy lotus root slices for Paige Desmond, and in her fury, smashed the bowl in her hand, skipping dinner altogether.
"He's the Sultan of Abyanabad, how could he do such a thing?"
Kiya's original intention was to prevent those in the Imperial Palace who follow the winds from looking down on Paige Desmond. He deliberately showed his care for Paige Desmond so that everybody could clearly see Paige Desmond's identity and status. Additionally, it was to win Paige's favor.
But Kiya didn't know that this action directly infuriated the Queen Mother.
"The Sultan too, how could he enter a place like the kitchen?" Charlene said.
"He's bewitched by Paige Desmond."
Charlene directed others to clean up the broken bowl pieces on the floor and dismissed everyone else.
