Chapter 3 - She is young

Movements were everywhere within the school. Students from the film department were going crazy trying to use drones to capture an image of this legendary university student.

Phelicity, also known as Jessy Williams, had no idea that her arrival had caused such a commotion. The moment she walked out of the parking lot, she was surprised by the sheer number of people waiting for her. Security guards were stationed everywhere, and a red carpet had been rolled out.

Teachers were lined up, waiting for this honored guest. 'What kind of trouble is this?' she sighed inwardly. She had no idea her presence would generate such a stir.

"Welcome, Miss Jessy Williams. We are sorry we didn't send an official escort to invite you," the Dean said, his voice trembling.

He couldn't believe that this mysterious student was so young, or he wondered if she had been sent as a representative by the real Jessy Williams. Regardless, they would find out later. The lady in front of him was undeniably a minor, barely 18 years old.

"Thank you. I didn't want to bother you by creating a scene..." she said, her eyes scanning the surroundings.

"Oh, our apologies. Shall we?" He requested, gesturing for them to move toward the office.

"Thank you," she answered politely.

Just then, a group of bodyguards in black suits walked forward and blocked their path. To Jessy's surprise, a young man stepped out. Everyone greeted him with deep respect.

"Welcome, Vice-Chancellor Edmond."

The young man gave a brief nod. He scanned his surroundings as if looking for something. Jessy didn't care at all; she simply lifted her feet and walked straight past them toward the office.

'He might be the Vice-Chancellor, but even if he were the President, he should know when to put on airs and when not to,' she thought.

Her movement caught Edmond's eye. He didn't expect a student within the school to behave so dismissively toward him.

"Sorry, VC. She is Miss Jessy Williams, the legendary student whom our university has been inviting to be a lecturer for the past two years," the Dean explained quickly, alongside the administration staff.

"She...?" Edmond was stunned. "Isn't she a minor? She looks like an 18-year-old student." He could not hide his surprise.

"Yes, Sir. We are yet to confirm if she was sent as a proxy or if she is the real person," the Dean whispered.

Inside the Conference Room

"Welcome to Imperial University. May we know who you are and why you possess Jessy Williams's identification?" the Dean asked.

Jessy cleared her throat and calmly pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose, exuding an air of mystery.

"I am the student..."

Before she could finish, someone interrupted.

"I knew you were too young to be her! Tell me, why did she send you, and why didn't she come here herself?" Edmond demanded.

"Sir... you didn't allow me to finish," she said calmly.

"Okay, go on," he replied, crossing his arms.

"I am the student, Jessy Williams, 18 years old. I joined Imperial University through online classes at the age of 14. At the age of 16, I started receiving your invitation letters after participating in the research team, various projects, and other initiatives. The truth is, I couldn't make it here earlier because I was a bit held up. Since I am still studying, I will accept the lecturing job while continuing my studies. If the board doesn't mind, I would also like to join the Design School. There is something I need to learn from there as well," she said respectfully.

The room fell dead silent. Who exactly was this girl? 'She is a monster! Where were the rest of us at the age of 14? A monster! This minor is an absolute monster!' Edmond's mind screamed.

Everyone stared at her as if they were looking at a demon, their mouths wide open.

"Ahem...! Student Jessy, are you sure you will be able to balance all of this? You are a student in the Engineering department, a lecturer in the Mathematics department, and I am also aware that the Medical department wanted your assistance. Now you want to add another course of study?" Edmond asked, trying to regain his composure.

"Yes, don't you think you will overwork yourself?" the Chairman chimed in. 'If only she could be my granddaughter...' the Chairman sighed internally.

"Don't worry about me. I will be assisting both departments, but I won't be a full-time lecturer. I will be a full-time student. Although I won't be attending standard core classes, I will be physically attending the Design department," she clarified.

"Well then, the matter is settled," Edmond said.

He didn't want to waste another second around this bizarre human being. Even though he had a strange older brother, this woman completely surpassed his brother, Edward. For a young lady to be this crazy and achieve such massive titles at her age, she had to be a dangerous anomaly—a monster genius. He shook his head, refusing to overthink it further.

"Arrange an office for her," he commanded before turning to leave.

"Thank you, Sir," she said to his retreating back. Turning to the rest of the room, she added, "If you all don't mind, I will take my leave. Since I am new to the city, I need to go rent a house."

"Ah? You don't come from the Imperial City?" the Chairman asked.

"I don't," she replied with a polite smile.

'This young lass is truly a monster,' he thought.

"Our school will provide accommodation for you. You need not worry about a thing; after all, it's not easy to settle down here on your own," the Dean offered warmly.

"Oh, don't worry about that. If I can't find a place, I will give you a call. For now, please excuse me," she said, walking out.

A heavy silence lingered in the room for a full minute after her departure.

"What do you think about this young lady?" one of the most reputable professors asked. He himself was 45 years old and highly respected.

"Her achievements at this age are a testament to her genius," another doctor noted.

"Her eyes are empty, and her emotions are absent. She displays undertones of sadness, betrayal, denial, a lack of affection, and pure coldness. What could drive such a young girl to become this kind of person? There is definitely more to her story," the doctor from the Psychology department analyzed.

"Doctor Lee, how did you manage to study her so quickly?" his colleague asked, surprised.

"She mentioned she took online classes. At 14 years old, she couldn't blend in with her peers, so she fought to achieve great things instead. When she talks, she is far too cold and distant for her age," Doctor Lee explained.

"Anyway, what baffles me is that she still wants to achieve more. Only someone who is a mix of madman and genius could pull this off," another doctor concluded.

Meanwhile, Edmond sent the voice recording to his elder brother and called him immediately.

"Big brother, I almost died in that conference room just now! I didn't know I would meet another crazy genius like you in this lifetime. And to think the legendary figure we've been looking for is an 18-year-old girl!" Edmond babbled on, unable to stop talking about how cold Jessy was.

"What's so surprising about that?" Edward muttered, though a flicker of curiosity sparked within him. He suddenly wished to see this young woman for himself.

"Brother, can you treat me to a drink today?" Edmond pleaded.

Though he was 26 years old, he knew he couldn't achieve a fraction of what this young girl had. He knew firsthand that true success didn't come easily, having watched his own brother fight for his achievements.

"Good timing, brother. Carl, George, and Drake are all in town, so you can join us," Edward said.

"Great! Edward, listen to the recording first. I'll hang up now," Edmond said excitedly.

Meanwhile, the students had managed to snap a photo of Jessy walking out of the administration building. The photo instantly started trending on the internet and the university forum.

A heated discussion erupted on the forum about how beautiful Jessy was and how terrifyingly accomplished she must be. Some speculated she might just be a student recommended by the true "Lord of Studies."

"I can't believe my eyes. Are you guys sure she is the Master?"

"I'm here to ask the same thing. She's way too young!"

"Yeah, did she start schooling before she was even born? Look at me, I'm 27 and I've achieved absolutely nothing."

"Are you guys positive it's her?"

User: Engineering_King: "Hold on... she's a Professor AND a student? My brain just short-circuited. Someone reboot me."

User: FlowerBoy_99: "I don't care if she's a Master or a Demon, she's gorgeous! I'm transferring to the Design School immediately."

User: Study_God_Response: "Stupid! Look at the official website. She has a double Doctorate in Engineering and Math. If you go to her class, you won't be looking at her face—you'll be crying over the equations she puts on the board!"

"I don't care who she is, all I care about is that she's young and beautiful."

"Stop dreaming. This young lass has a mysterious, dangerous aura around her. Give it a rest."

"Hey, third-years and fourth-years, stay away from my baby!"

"Pfft...! Who do you think you are?"

"We will stone you to death! How dare you try to claim the new student!"

"Hello, everyone check the university's official website! There's an announcement!"

"She really is a lecturer within the Mathematics and Engineering departments!"

"What...? Guys, I am dead. My body will decay in two seconds. Please come to my burial."

"So she really is the Master after all?"

"The website listed her title as Professor/Doctor Jessy Williams."

"Meaning this teenager has already earned multiple PhDs?!"

"BRB, going to go hit the books. If I don't graduate today, I'm not worthy of breathing the same air as Professor Jessy!"

The heated discussion showed no signs of stopping, but many had to log out to process the shock. The young lady was an absolute monster genius.
