Chapter 149 - 149

Lariel laughed heartily, answering:

"Great! You'll never be alone. You don't need to make any effort to conquer a woman, this magic works flawlessly."

"Why is this necessary?"

The disgusted expression on the young man's face discouraged Lariel.

"Hmm!" the King blurted out absentmindedly. "Well, if you don't need it, then you can just be friends. I do this often! If there is too much attention to me, then I pretend that I am busy, tired, I don't understand hints, whatever! Don't worry and be yourself. If you want, love your admirer, if not, just be friends."

"What happened to me and Zarmina? I don't know how to behave with her."

"There was something, since we lived together at her house. When I picked you up, you were sleeping in the same bed."

"But I don't want to go back to her," Gedeon muttered. "She's beautiful, but I don't feel anything."

"No need, especially since she married Imarinis, my cousin. And he will definitely ask you not to touch his wife."

Lariel told him for a while about the norms of society and the structure of the life of syrinxes, causing genuine surprise to Gedeon, who started life from scratch.

He was clearly aware that he had already lived as someone before, but not in this sphere, but in a simpler environment, where magic was completely absent. Moral principles struck him no less: free love did not fit into his worldview, some kind of framework held his consciousness that did not allow freedom in relationships.

Citing that he was busy, Lariel left Gedeon in a stupor: the guy did not know what to do. He tried to fly, but his wings, weakened after a long hibernation, did not obey him. The young man wandered aimlessly for a long time, examining the city streets with passers-by, trying to remember at least something, until he met Zarmina. She grabbed him by the arm and invited him to visit her.

"Won't your husband mind?" Gedeon asked cautiously, following her.

Zarmina carelessly waved her hand and led him into a cool stone house, sitting him on a soft sofa in a spacious living room with a high ceiling and a luxurious interior.

"It's beautiful!" - The young man was delighted.

"Imarinis tried his best," - Zarmina chuckled mockingly. "He thinks that since his wife is a princess, that means the house must be luxurious. Like I really need it."

"Lariel told me that you married his cousin. I regret that I don't remember anything that happened between us... Did we have a love relationship?"

"Yes," - Zarmina confirmed flirtatiously, patting him on the thigh. "You liked me, you said so."

"It's hard for me to understand all this, that I had some other life. What was I even doing?"

"Magic and love," Zarmina answered mockingly and began to comb carefully the long strands of his hair. "You're a little confused, but I'll help you find activities for you, we're friends and spent a lot of time together. I am a singer and you loved to listen to my arias."

"So what is my hobbies?"

Zarmina sat down closer and pressed herself against Gedeon with a blissful smile.

"Have they not told you yet that you are Lamori? To love the one who asks you to."

She started to stroke gently his shoulders and chest with her thin fingers.

Imarinis suddenly entered the living room and was dumbfounded.

"Gedeon! Are you awake? Are you already seducing my wife?"

He decisively approached Zarmina and pulled her away from the young man, capturing her in his arms.

"Sorry, but I didn't do anything..." Gedeon justified himself in a daze.

"And you don't have to do anything! They're coming at you," Imarinis muttered displeasedly and stared at him angrily. "And why are we being punished like that?"

"He has amnesia! He doesn't remember anything! Why are you talking this to him?" -Zarmina attacked her husband, breaking free from his hands.

"Then listen, Deo!" Imarinis measured the young man with a stern look. - "According to the new rules, any husband decides which lovers will court his wife and whether there will be any. Any contacts of a married princess are under the supervision of her spouse. I do not allow you to have private communication with Zarmina. And just because you're a Lamori doesn't give you the right to touch her without my knowledge."

"Stop it, Imarinis, what terrible jealousy!" - She was indignant, pounding her husband's body with her fists. "By the way, Tarmio allowed me to date Deo."

"And where is he, that Tarmio? I've never even seen him! You're divorcing him, by the way. Let him come here and we will have a heart-to-heart talk."

Gedeon, his eyes widening in surprise, watched the emotional family showdown.

"Listen, stop to swear!" He intervened. "I don't want to be the cause of your quarrel. If you knew me, Imarinis, tell me something about me. I really don't remember anything."
