Victoria Gibson bit her lip, meeting Grace Yakov's expectant eyes, and could only nod with a stiff smile.
After dinner, Grace Yakov didn't drag her into conversation but instead nudged Eddy Sherman, and the two of them walked out of the yard, sitting under the ginkgo tree, sipping tea and chatting.
"Your grandparents have such a good relationship." Victoria Gibson stood at the exit of the living room, quietly watching the scene in front of her, unable to resist speaking.
Unbeknownst to her, Chad Yakov had already walked up behind her, extended his arm, and pulled her into his embrace from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder while lifting his eyes to follow her gaze.
His lips moved gently.
"Because they've experienced loss, they know better than anyone else how to cherish what they have."
His slightly solemn tone was quite different from usual, catching Victoria off guard. When she came back to her senses, she immediately pushed away his head and stepped out of his embrace.
