That night, in Mrs. Wallace's room on the third floor of the Wallace family home, a solemn and silent atmosphere prevailed.
Mrs. Wallace had called Bruce Wallace, Winona Wallace, and Sheila Fletcher up.
Once the three were present, a stern look flashed across Mrs. Wallace's old and gloomy face.
"Bruce Wallace, you go over there—"
Mrs. Wallace sternly shouted, pointing with her cane to the shrine on the left side of the room's entrance.
There, a black-and-white photo was placed, the memorial portrait of Mr. Wallace.
With exasperation, she said, "Kneel in front of your father, bow, and admit your mistake."
"Grandma, what right do you have to make Dad kneel? What did Dad do wrong?" Winona Wallace said discontentedly, feeling that Mrs. Wallace was becoming increasingly muddle-headed.
Sheila Fletcher also urged, "Yes, Mom, if there's something wrong, please say it slowly and don't get angry."
