The boy couldn't understand his words, but his scattered and weak gaze fell on his hand, carrying a hint of longing for life.
Howard placed the half-eaten corn he had beside him, carefully poured water into the bottle cap, and slowly brought it to his mouth.
"Have you not had water for a long time? Is there a shortage of water here?" Howard repeated the action while asking.
Destined not to understand the language, the almost powerless African boy couldn't answer, merely staring expectantly at the water bottle in Howard's hand, his gaze brightening by a few points each time.
After drinking a bit, Howard looked up at Black Hawk: "Uncle Black Hawk, can you help him up?"
Black Hawk didn't refuse and helped the child to sit against the wall in a shade, while Howard once again approached him and fed him some more water: "Do you feel a bit better? I put the water by your side; you can drink it if you want, but it seems like you're not suited to drink too much now."
