Teardrops slid down Yvonne's eye sockets, with a sour gaze she said, "But Riley, I'll be honest with you, the research hasn't made any progress at all, you and him are simply impossible."
Riley stared at her blankly, her gaze somewhat sour, a forced smile tugging at her mouth corner, but tears never fell.
Yvonne steeled herself again and said, "Okay, even if you don't think for yourself, have you thought about Hankie? If you continue this way and something unexpected really happens, what about Hankie? Have you considered what a huge blow this would be to him?"
Yvonne's words made Riley suddenly stiff.
