Aldana Candi sat opposite him, feeling the temperature around them sharply drop. She hugged the shawl closer to her, opened her eyes, and rang the bell.
She sensed Philip Shaw's gaze turning towards her, but he said nothing. Aldana kept her head down and did not look at him.
She truly had nothing to say to him; her body was weak at the moment and she didn't want to create further complications. Yet, she was uncertain what significance there would be after she recuperated.
Her role was merely to serve as the shield that Philip Shaw used to fend off the Shaw family's animosity towards Ellen Candi, with all those hidden arrows aimed at her, ensuring the safety of the person behind her. Once, Ellen Candi had protected her without concern for herself, and now, it was finally her turn to protect Ellen.
