Aldana Candi responded with a soft "mm," without saying anything further. Philip Shaw gently placed her on the sofa and asked her, "Would you like something to eat?"
Aldana Candi replied with another "mm."
Philip Shaw turned around and asked someone to bring over some cookies and juice.
Aldana Candi's sudden return surprised the servants in the house a bit. She appeared even more fragile, and although it was unclear what had happened, everyone knew about the gloomy atmosphere in the villa during this time.
Something must have happened—after all, Aldana Candi had disappeared suddenly, but Philip Shaw hadn't said anything, leaving them in the dark.
Aldana Candi received the cookies and juice handed to her by a servant. She sat on the sofa eating, somewhat bored, until she saw a slender figure floating down from upstairs.
She saw her face and was slightly startled, sitting up straight on the sofa.
It was Ellen Candi.
