When Philip Shaw returned to the room, Aldana Candi was standing with her back to him, looking out the window. The window was open, allowing the cold wind to sweep in, brushing against her long, flowing hair and creating a desolate silhouette.
Upon hearing the door open, she slightly lowered her head and raised a hand to gently wipe her eyes.
Philip Shaw walked over to close the window, turned around, and looked down at her face.
As expected, Aldana's face was pale from the wind, and there was no color in her lips. Even with her head lowered, one could still see the slight redness at the corners of her eyes.
"Why did you come back so early?" She remembered that Philip Shaw would stay in the study working for a while before returning every night.
