Aldana was slightly taken aback, then she smiled and couldn't help reaching out to pat Elias Moore's head, "Good boy."
In her eyes, this tall, skinny boy was still just a kid like Gugu. She still remembered how sweetly he used to call her Sister Aldana in the hospital when he was little. Although his personality and temperament had changed a lot now, hearing Elias Moore say this still warmed her heart a bit.
The children Norris raised were all as warm and kind as she was.
Philip Shaw, sitting beside her, hadn't said a word all along, but when Elias Moore made that comment, he lifted his head to glance at the boy. A faint, cold smile appeared at the corner of his lips, laced with a hint of mockery and sarcasm.
Only someone like Elias Moore could be so naïve and unruly to boast like that in front of him. Kids, after all, are kids; they understand nothing and think the world is such that they can succeed just by swearing an oath.
