Although she rationally understood this, the fear engraved deep in her soul still drove her to extreme terror when she saw those two men who resembled them so closely, as if she were in an ice cellar.
Now that she thought about it, perhaps the man wearing the fox mask saw her so terrified and deliberately held onto her mask, wanting to tease her.
Philip Shaw was silent for a moment and asked, "Really?"
"Why would I lie to you?" Aldana Candi found it amusing, "I know those things from back then better than anyone else; why would I use them to deceive you?"
"Then why didn't you tell me what happened back then?"
Aldana Candi was quiet for a while before lifting her head with a wry smile and looking at him, "Philip Shaw, I've told you, but you just wouldn't believe it."
She had clearly told him what happened to her; it was him who chose not to believe her.
He always thought she was lying.
