On the morning of the third day, the massive ship let out a "woo woo" sound from its horn, began turning around, and proceeded towards the predetermined route.
Aldana Candi stood at the bow, watching the island grow smaller and smaller in the distance. She saw Anne's family walk out of their house, standing at the doorway watching their departure. The island's inhabitants had given her the will to live and nearly caused her demise, but as she left, what came to mind was still the kindness and warmth these people had shown her.
...
The scorching sun beat down from above, and the endless sea around them reflected the sunlight. Aldana Candi leaned against the window, feeling weak from the heat, almost drowsy.
They had been out for half a day.
Surrounded by water, one's sense of space and time gradually blurred. The sun rose higher, almost straight overhead, and standing under it, one couldn't even see their own shadow, only feeling the heat waves in the air.
"Here."
