Zemirah can't deny that she was… fascinated.
The beauty of brutal war and death, something she was seeing for the first time, as she was used to the elegant, clean, and swift battle of her lover, Roch.
Appreciation blooms in her heart as their morale rose despite the rising count of casualties in front. The power of her array was also at it's peak, her spiritual energy depleting every second, yet she had no time to find a spiritual pill to replenish it.
Everyone's mind was on the battle in front. No one dared close their eyes or blink despite the rushing dust of clouds slapping their face.
Zemirah can only feel thankful for her veil covering her mouth and nose. Her eyes narrowed as she felt her heart beat fast and loud, a premonition filled her being as she felt that the awaited time had arrived…
"Now!"
The phantom of the orange black tiger suddenly rushed to the enemy and exploded, the energy it contains seems to reach beyond the energy of the Energy Refining Realm. Zemirah did not dare think more as she urged the array in her hand.
The surrounding thunder that had been gathering around them suddenly converged, and the golden white light of thunder turned into one and flew to the enemy. The enemy's huge body was an obvious target, not having the chance to dodge the attack aimed at its chest as it roared loudly, yet everyone's ears were filled with the thunderous noise.
It was continuous, as if endless thunder would fall as long as it has the energy to do so.
When everything turned calm, what they saw was the feared enemy having nothing but its burned and broken body below its chest. One can even see that faint trace of golden white lightning, seemingly not satisfied until the enemy was burned to ashes.
The sight was haunting… yet everyone was filled with joy and relief.
Zemirah did not know what was on her mind, but she seemed to feel the array on her hand being eager, and it was not empty of energy yet, so unconsciously, she activated it again.
The array disc glowed brightly again, though slightly inferior to the first attack. Golden white lightning gathered, then flew to the remaining body of the Evil Deity. Everyone seems to hear thunder rumble in their ears along with the howling of a monster.
The smell of disgusting smoked meat entered their nose, making the cultivators frown. It was especially so for Zemirah, despite being a distance away from the main battlefield.
She felt that after this, she would have no appetite to eat any meat.
"F*ck!!! Finally dead!"
"I would not go out in the wild again for a long time. What the h*ll is this experience."
Meanwhile, the mysterious man and his group watched the remains of the Evil Deity. They feel that such a powerful evil created from many lives would not be lacking in trump cards or a last resort of attack before dying.
They remained vigilant as time passed by, and the other cultivators also noticed their posture.
Noticing something wrong and not daring to be careless, they quieted down, all previous cheering sounds from the victory stopped.
Zemirah watched too, her eyes narrowing before she asked the people beside her, "It's not dead yet?"
The Evil Deity's remains fell, its wolf head barely had a quarter left. The burnt remains have no blood dripping, lying brokenly on the ground that the group watched from a distance.
"Evil beings like that always have a last verge of attack, as if they would rather die together with the enemy than flee for their life. We suspect that thing was preparing for revenge." One of the five subordinates spoke, their eyes not leaving the enemy either.
Zemirah's heart felt heavy when suddenly, the artifact hanging on her waistband moved. It was the familiar warning that saved her life before.
Zemirah's eyes widened as she turned to shout at the group in front, "Be careful!"
The leader seems to have sensed it too, as his spear quickly moved to meet the sneak attack. It was the familiar wolf-headed shape of black green energy, full of evil. They saw the bloody mouth wide open as if ready to bite and swallow them.
The enemy's attack was beyond a single person's strength at the Peak-Stage of Energy Refining Realm, making him crash to the ground, creating a huge crater a few meters deep, while his two hands barely held his spear raised high against the attack of the enemy.
With a crack, the jade pendant on his waist shattered, and a protective barrier appeared.
"Leader!" It was that person's subordinate who quickly moved to check the man and gave support. A few smaller tiger phantoms went to reinforce the man, his strength rising rapidly, he fought back despite the internal injuries he was suppressing.
Zemirah did not dare dally as she pulled a defensive talisman after talisman, trying to mitigate the attack. It worked.
Zemirah saw that the mysterious person was able to hold on his own as his subordinate activated their army formation.
Meanwhile, she quickly pushed the last bit of her spiritual energy into the array disc and activated the array to attack.
Her anger at the despicable enemy made her not stop the attack until she heard the array disc crack, her dantian aching, along with her head feeling like it was being hammered down.
Sucere watched as the beautiful lady staggered, the array disc falling from her hand.
"Mirah." She rushed to hold her despite also feeling tired, that array treated them like a battery, her spiritual energy almost empty.
Mirah's eyes were closed, obviously unconscious.
At the same time, the enemy turned to ashes, leaving behind something glowing eerily. No one noticed it, aside the the people near.
Sucere sighed before letting her lie down next to the Iron Armor Beast with Simon, who reassured her, then went to retrieve the array disc, knowing that it's valuable to be lost. She also found other cultivators who were still alive, pulling them to the others who were making some emergency treatment.
She glanced at the group that contributed the most in this battle aside from Mirah. That group was busy tending to their leader, separated from their side.
Her eyes narrowed as she remembered their performance.
Army Formation.
Tiger Phantom.
"Hmm, interesting." A small smile escaped her lips as she murmured. "Whatever, it has nothing to do with me. Besides, we had an agreement not to spread whatever happened here." She shrugged to herself before going back to Zemirah.
The lady was still unconscious, her frown not leaving her face. Sucere sighed and went to ask Simon about her condition, "How is she?"
Simon was standing beside the Iron Armor Beast with Zemirah on its back, "There is someone who survived that knows some medical treatment, he said that her Dantian was drained of spiritual energy, which hurt her meridians. She needs some special pills to heal and cannot use spiritual energy for aggressive ways for a week or more."
Sucere listened quietly before frowning too, "That's troublesome."
Simon heard her words and laughed lightly, "It's not bad, at least we're alive and not missing a limb."
It made sense.
Sucere pursed her red lips and nodded in agreement.
