"...Thank you, I... don't mind..."
Her voice didn't sound like herself, like a reserved little woman, low and timid, even while eating, she lowered her head, nibbling bit by bit to cover her sudden surge of emotions.
Yet she didn't forget the man beside her, warmly instructing him, "You eat the rest, this is enough for me."
"Little wife, you're so good."
Julian Johnsons chuckled mischievously like the wind, just about to take a bite of noodles, when the phone rang again, it was Ruth Upperton.
He waited for three seconds and then answered, immediately hearing a flurry of sounds:
"Julian, where are you? Grandma hasn't bothered you all morning, you shouldn't be mad at her anymore, right? Do you know, your parents are in A City, come back quickly, our family can have a reunion lunch at noon."
Before Julian could utter a word, Ruth Upperton slyly grabbed Lucy Candler, handed her the phone, and explained towards the receiver, "Julian, let your mom say a few words to you."
