"Did you talk to that lady, sis?"
"No, neither her nor her daughter. I never talked to her. I only know that she's in India, that's it."
"India, ha? Sis, you said you have work tomorrow. Can I come with you.? You know I can be helpful."
"Na, you will only hold me back. I'll go alone."
"Sis-" A strong gust of wind blew the scarf on her shoulders to the terrace of TSM club building. She saw few shadows move on the terrace. Soon she realized there was something big happening but couldn't point out what.
Harris said, "Sis, wait here I'll go get it from there." she stops him by saying she will go there by herself as she needs to check something. Harris refused but she insisted on going and alone.
She goes upstairs using the stairs on the back staircase. Soon reaches the top and she grins as sees the shadows and they start to make screeching noises as soon as they see her. she says,"You had the audacity to show yourselves here? You things sure have death wish." And takes her wallet out and it transforms into a war scythe. She lunged onto them while swinging her scythe and slashed them into pieces.
Within seconds all those shadows were on the ground except for one whom she saved for last and she asked him,"You. Why are you guys here? this isn't a place where you should hang around."
He said while shivering, "We came here after fleeing from a hunter to hide. He was chasing us for long time and had kept my people as slaves. We were just running away to live freely."
A shock and grief hit her, "You were enslaved? By whom? And how?"
"I don't know. But I will do my best to kill you. We ran from him only to be killed by you." His tone was mixed with anger. and he tried to attack her.
She beats him up with the back of her scythe and says, "Listen kid consider yourself lucky that I killed them. I only attacked them because that was necessary"
"What do you mean?"
"Enslaved must die if tried to break free, That's the condition of slave contract. They were doomed to die the moment they ran from their master. those guys were ticking bombs, and you were not that's why i didn't attack you."
"Then kill me too. I don't have anyone left other than them so please kill me." He falls on his knees and begs.
"I don't kill, I didn't kill them either they were just too weak to handle my single blow and died. That's it. Have you ever seen anyone kill your kind with this dull blade." and she scoffs it off. And starts to descend the stairs and hears his plea again. "Please Kill me even if it is with that dull blade, please kill me I will endure the torture no matter how hard it is. I have no one in this world."
She scratches her head and moves towards him while removing her scarf, she chants something and tosses her scarf on him. He turns into a black cat with ruby eyes.
She says "I can't kill an innocent soul who's done nothing. Live on, soon you will find someone who will be by your side." and picks him up in scarf and bring it downstairs.
"You went alone but came back with kitten?" he said and suddenly he widened his eyes."Is that what I think it is."
"I couldn't bring myself kill him. he was pure soul so I casted spell on him."
He grabs her and says,"you only awakened your powers a year ago are you seriously tried to overexert and kill yourself.?"
She shakes his hand off and says, "If that's my fate so be it. It's not like there's any reason to live while having nightmares all day long. Honestly, I'm sick of this life. Why am I like this, Risey? WHY??" She starts to rant like a depressed person while shivering.
Harris knew how her mana overuse impacts her and this reaction was that. He holds her and shakes to come back to her senses."Hurey, stop saying those things. You just overdid it. You just used up your mana that's it, sis. "
"That's right, I'm not weak, right. right" She loses her conscious.
Harris holds her and the kitten, takes them to his dorm room and takes the kitten out and leaves it at the window saying. "Go find your place somewhere else. And don't come near her, I'm not like her I will kill you even if you are innocent." The kitten leaves.
He sighs while looking at her "Seriously, I miss her when she was not mage or at least when she didn't have that accident. She was clearly about to lose her senses today." He leaves the room after tucking her to bed and leaves a note on the door saying He is sleeping on the couch and not to enter the room.
**Next day **
Everyone wakes up and Tim doesn't go to his usual waking everyone up ritual. Everyone wonder what had happened.
Kail asks if everyone's here, Yohan was cooking and says,"yeah except for our newbie. Someone go get him I'm done cooking."
Lint, a 26-year-old, with tall, muscled structure and thick black perm, and light brown eyes, goes upstairs and finds Harris's note and sees him on couch, wakes him up and he gets ready and comes down. As Kail was about to ask why he was sleeping outside instead of his room. Harris's phone rings and see Hurayn call. picks it up.
Harris started, "What is it?"
"Why am I here?"
"You passed out."
"You could've dropped me back."
"I couldn't, there was curfew yesterday."
"I don't have clothes."
"You can wear mine, what's with that question, sis?"
"I can but to do that I need to know where the keys are. your wardrobe is locked."
"AH! that, *he whispers* Under the wardrobe mat."
"Fine." Cuts the call.
"hehe, I'm genius, right?" He checks the phone, and she had cut the call already. "SIGH~"
Kail asks, "Who's there in your room?"
Harris panics as asks, "How'd you know?"
"When you slept on couch instead of your room. So, who is it?"
Hurayn's phone buzzed with notification, her eyes widened when she saw that message. She tried to call her father, but the line went engaged. She called again and again. Her calls went unanswered and her heartbeat fastened. Before Harris could say anything she stormed downstairs.
"Risey!! When was the last time you talked with baba?"
Everybody was stunned to see her especially Yohan couldn't take his eyes off her shiny hair and her red which had hint of Hazel green eyes.
Harris said, "I didn't talk to him since Saturday."
"Saturday?! Damn it" she starts pacing around and calls his secretary.
Harris asks her what has happened. She says "It's just my speculation and I hope it's not true. I think baba is kidnapped, His Gps is off, he hadn't been in touch with since Saturday too, today is Friday and he had told me that he will be travelling to some country and now he is not answering my calls.
While she is on call everyone asks him about her and he says, " My big sis."
They tilt their head with complete dumbfoundedly, Harris says "My big sis, the one who is in ZKTC, the one from whom I got the approval to join TSM. That's her"
She ends her call with the secretary, and comes to him and says, "Risey, it seems Baba is in India and due to network issues he wasn't able to be in contact. So I'll be going to India." And as she tries to leave Harris holds her,"Tell me what's going on at least. And you can't just leave like this. Look around, Hamar."
She realizes that she's in TSM and talks with everyone," Hello, I'm Harris's elder sister, Hurayn Arfath Zulqar. Please take care of my brother and please look out for him."
Kail says,"We will please rest assured. And may I know the reason you let him join TSM when you are in ZKTC."
"Reason was simple, if he stayed with me, he would stay under me and nobody would recognize his worth and might as well call him privileged, parachute. I want him grow and become strong which he can't be if he's around me, as he's my baby brother, I tend to keep him safe."
"I see, please rest assured he is in good hands."
Harris looking at this scene like a kid whose mom is dropping him at school. Hurayn says "I'll take my leave I need to go to India."
Yohan says, "Why don't you stay until his match is over. It's his first match in the arena." She agrees to stay.
She messages to Harris,"That son of a bitch must not win against you. Win."
