"Mephit!"
Rod shouted.
"Look into my eyes, what do you see in there?"
Mephit's lips moved slightly, and in an incomparably weak voice she asked, "Wha...t?"
Rod roared, "You!"
Mephit's gaze flickered. Although confusion and bewilderment still occupied most of her expression, a crack finally appeared. Next, Rod drew on everything he had ever learned, spitting out every line of sweet talk he could think of in one breath, no matter how cheesy, how outdated, how clichéd.
The level of cringe had already broken through the heavens. At this moment, Rod had entered a state of self-forgetfulness; this long-forgotten knowledge gathered and sublimated in his Soul, reaching an unprecedented height, as if he had been studying and pondering it all his life.
The Book of Knowledge clapped itself shut and fell to the floor. "I don't want to listen anymore, aaah, this is disgusting!"
