Chapter 5 - Growing One Note at a Time.

As time went on, I began preparing for my MUSON Grade 2 Piano examination. It was not an easy journey. The pieces became more challenging, the exercises demanded greater accuracy, and I had to spend many hours practicing every day. There were moments when I felt tired, but I reminded myself of how far I had come. Giving up was never an option.

During this period, I learned a beautiful new piece called "Little Spring Song." It was different from the pieces I had played before, and every practice session taught me something new about expression, rhythm, and musicality. With patience and determination, I gradually became more confident in my playing.

As I continued my studies, I also made new friends at MUSON. It felt good to be surrounded by people who shared the same love for music. We encouraged one another, shared our experiences, and celebrated each other's progress.

One of the greatest lessons my teacher taught me was how to read music fluently. At first, reading notes quickly seemed almost impossible, but with constant practice, the notes on the page slowly began to make sense. Music was no longer just a collection of symbols—it became a language I was learning to understand.

Throughout this journey, my parents never stopped believing in me. Their encouragement gave me the strength to keep practicing, even on the days when I doubted myself. Knowing they believed in my dream made me want to work even harder.

After months of dedication and practice, the day of my MUSON Grade 2 Piano examination finally arrived. Although I was nervous, I remembered all the hours I had spent preparing. I took a deep breath, trusted my training, and gave the examination my very best.

When the results were released, I was overjoyed—I had passed. It was another reminder that hard work, patience, and perseverance always bring rewards.

One of my proudest achievements during this stage of my musical journey was realizing that I could sight-read music confidently and even transcribe music by ear. These were skills I had once admired in other musicians, but now they were becoming part of my own musical journey. They gave me the confidence to tackle new pieces more quickly and deepened my understanding of music.

Looking back, I realized that every challenge had a purpose. Every difficult lesson, every mistake, and every hour of practice was shaping me into the musician I dreamed of becoming. My journey was still unfolding, and with every new piece I learned, my love for music grew even stronger.

As I reflected on everything I had achieved, I realized I wasn't the same person who had walked into MUSON feeling excited, nervous, and unsure of myself. I had grown in confidence, discipline, and determination. I could now sight-read music, transcribe songs by ear, and face new challenges with courage.

But deep inside, I knew this was only another step in a much bigger journey.

Greater lessons were waiting for me.

Greater challenges were ahead.

And with God's help, I was ready to face them.
