The skin reached through the shared line before anyone could move the last tooth.
The reach never passed through the glass like a hand. The case panel stayed whole. The body inside stayed trapped. The reach came through pressure, heat, and proof, following Ty's bone chip where the receiver had clamped it inside the groove.
Ty felt warmth close around his broken fingertip.

For one breath, the warmth felt familiar again.
