Meanwhile on Granu island, Cal walked into the throne room. "My King," Cal said as he panted. He looked at King Cello who was sitting on his throne.
"What do you have to report?" Cello questioned as he looked at Cal.
"The fourth Life Gem has been found," Cal reported. "My sources tell me the same pirate crew who found the others were responsible for this. They currently have three gems in their possession," he added.
King Cello stayed silent. He then spoke up. "Three," he said. "The fifth one is located here," he added. "That means they are all coming here to complete the set," he remarked.
"This is what you wanted," Smoker said as he puffed his cigar.
"It is for the future of the nation," Cello replied as he looked at the Marine.
At that moment, the heavy doors burst open. A Marine soldier ran in. He gasped for air. Cal turned around and looked at the Marine.
The Marine looked at Smoker. "Captain Smoker," he said as he saluted him.
"What is it?" Smoker asked.
"We have had reports coming in that the pirate Mad Treasure has been spotted on the coast and has made land fall," the Marine said.
Smoker, who had been leaning against a pillar smoking his cigars, stood up straight. His eyes narrowed. "Mad Treasure? What is a New World pirate doing in these waters?" he asked.
"There is more Captain Smoker. Tashigi has already engaged him in battle," he further reported.
Smoker headed for the door. "I'm going. If Tashigi is fighting him, she's in over her head," he said as he left.
Cal smiled thinly as he watched Smoker leave the room. He thought he was gone.
King Cello smiled. "The value of these Life Gems, it attracts even the most dangerous men from the New World," he said.
"Indeed," Cal said, as he smiled. "My King, I shall check on the latest situation," Cal added as he slowly walked back. He left the room and took his Den Den Mushi out. "They have all left," he said. "The stage is set, Captain Lytton," Cal added.
Outside the palace, Lytton held the receiver to his ear. "Fine work Cal," Lytton said as he held the Den Den Mushi. "We are just seeing that Marine leave and get on his boat," he added. "We are making our move," he stated.
"We are ready to strike," a pirate said with a sinister smile on his face.
"Not yet," Lytton replied as he picked up the Den Den Mushi once more. "Helsing, are you there?" he asked.
There was no response. "No matter," Lytton responded as he put down the Den Den Mushi.
He looked at his pirates. They all had their swords drawn. "Now we are ready," he said. He turned his attention to Scratchmen Apoo, who was leaning against a wall. He was grinning. "Are you ready?" Lytton asked.
Apoo's grin widened. "Check it out! Music to my ears," he responded. He thought he was interesting. He had not expected this fool to stage a rebellion.
"Let's go," Lytton said. "Charge," he shouted.
Suddenly, hundreds of pirates surged from the shadows.
A pirate jumped from a pillar and pitted his dagger into a guard's neck, then slashed another's chest as he landed. "Take it all," one shouted.
The guards tried to form up, but the pirates swarmed them like a hive of hornets.
"They're coming out of the walls! Help," a guard shouted.
"Get back! Watch your," another guard said.
A pirate slashed the guard's stomach and went down. The guard rammed his spear into the pirate. "You will not take us," he said.
He then looked to see three more pirates piled on top of him. They slammed his face into the marble and pinned his arms behind his back.
A few feet away, a guard stabbed a pirate. However, another two pirates appeared. One pirate stabbed the guard's thigh. He dropped the shield. The pirate then kicked the sword out of his hand and dragged him toward the shadows.
"This one's a big one. Get the heavy chains," one pirate shouted.
"Let go of me, you scum," the guard yelled.
"Shut it! You're going in the hold," another pirate said.
The pirates kept slashing and moving forward. One guard got his arm snapped back as a pirate twisted it, while another was hit in the back of the head with a heavy hilt.
"Bop," Apoo shouted as he turned his forearm into a set of strings and plucked them.
A powerful sound wave shot out. It hit several guards. The men were sent flying backward. They were coughing and bruised. A few pirates were also hit and were sent back.
"Watch where you're aiming!" one pirate yelled as he spat blood.
Apoo just laughed. "Music hits everyone," Apoo said.
Lytton moved through the crowd. He took this weapon out and looked at his weapon. It was a giant spoon fused with a spear. It consists of a long metal shaft that ends in a spearhead and a cupped blade. The spearhead had an engraving of a snake's head. "Nailpaddle," Lytton said as he smiled.
Lytton looked as he saw a guard charging towards him. He thrusted the spear forward and stabbed the guard. THe guard got hit. He felt the weapon pierce his stomach. He spat blood and blood leaked from the wound. He fell down.
"I have inside men everywhere. The palace is already ours," Lytton remarked.
As they reached the inner sanctum, a guard blocked their path. "You shall not get past," he shouted.
"Paddle Spear," Lytton replied as he thrusted his Nailpaddle forward. He moved so fast that he left behind blurry afterimages. Before the guard could even raise his shield, the spearhead stabbed through his armor. The guard fell silently.
"Ouch," Apoo said as he saw the guard going down.
"The King is through these doors," Lytton said as he kicked down the door.
Lytton and Apoo walked into the throne room.
King Cello stood up. "Lytton?" he questioned. "Why are you here?" he asked. He thought this was a ruthless pirate.
The King looked at his trusted advisor. "Cal! Stop them," he shouted.
Cal didn't move. He simply smiled.
Lytton stepped forward. "Cal doesn't work for you anymore, King. He works with us, he has always worked for us," he remarked.
The pirates flooded the room and disarmed the remaining guards. In moments, the King of Cream Mist archaeological was forced into his own chair and captured. "Cal, how could you do this to me? "Cello shouted.
Cal laughed. "You were a fool," Cal responded. "I did this for Captain Lytton," he added. "His plan was to have you do this competition so we can collect all the Life Gems," he explained.
"What?" Cello questioned. "I trusted you," he added.
"You trusted wrong," Apoo remarked.
"This Life Gem belongs to us now," Lytton said.
"Yes Captain, we have two Life Gems in total," Cal replied.
"And those Love Pirates will bring the remaining to us," Lytton remarked. He started to laugh.
Apoo smiled. He thought there must be treasure in this castle. He held the Life Gem in his hand and smiled.
