Ma Lin could make his own emery, and then use this material to create grinding wheels to cut glass and make grinding machines to polish glass.
It's uncertain how long it will take to fully understand the related technology.
However, the difficulty in making bulbs around the filament is not actually that high.
He can produce bulbs but cannot produce inert gases.
Tungsten filaments are less likely to be damaged in an inert gas.
He wanted to fill the bulb with nitrogen but did not know how to produce nitrogen.
His idea was to turn all the oxygen in the air into carbon dioxide.
Then use this mixture of nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and inert gases to fill the bulb.
He wanted to test how effective this would be.
And the result was quite satisfactory.
And so, he had bulbs.
His bulbs were definitely not as good as those back home.
But having something usable in this era was enough.
Then came another problem.
A truly significant issue.
