Seeing her unable to stop crying for quite some time, Alan Morgan sighed and bent down to pick her up.
He gently placed her on the dining table and then forced a smile, pinching her cheek.
"What do you want to eat? I'll make it for you."
Shirley Grant looked at him blankly, sobbing uncontrollably.
Hearing his question, her eyes filled up with tears again.
Seeing her in this state, Alan Morgan sighed deeply.
He turned and went into the kitchen, simply cooking some noodles, then brought them out.
"Eat quickly while it's hot, or it will get soggy soon."
The steam from the noodles wafted into her face, causing Shirley Grant to lower her head, fearing she might start crying again.
"Be good."
He reached out and patted her head, trying to comfort her.
Shirley Grant nodded, slowly eating the noodles, one bite at a time.
Watching her sitting in front of him, Alan Morgan felt extremely conflicted.
