Tommy Taylor responded and hung up.
「Restaurant.」
Vera Wave was biting into a roast duck roll.
Across from her, Isla Hawskin frowned at the way she was eating.
"Can you say something? Why... why is this happening?"
Wiping the corner of her mouth with a napkin, Vera picked up another pancake and continued to wrap a second piece of duck meat.
"It's not..." Isla ran a hand through her hair. "Vera, are you trying to drive me crazy?"
"No particular reason. If we don't want to be together, then we break up," Vera said nonchalantly.
"Stop messing with me." Isla stood up, pulling her chair closer to Vera's side. "Did he cheat on you?"
"No."
"Then..." Isla considered for a moment. "Did his family mistreat you?"
"No."
"Then I just don't get it! You could be living comfortably as a young socialite, so why are you acting so crazy?!"
Vera didn't say anything and continued eating her roast duck.
"Then..." Isla moved closer again. "What about the baby?"
"I'll give birth."
