As they were about to leave the neighborhood, William Wilson noticed that Laura Jones's pace had noticeably slowed down, with a faint tendency to put some distance between them.
"What's wrong?"
he asked.
Laura Jones didn't hide it from him and said softly,
"There are definitely paparazzi lurking outside the neighborhood. If I leave with you and get photographed, it would affect you."
William Wilson was momentarily stunned; he hadn't thought about that.
He always maintained clean and self-improvement, never getting close to any unfamiliar women, going out with a clear conscience, and never considering such things.
But what the little girl said did remind him of something.
He himself didn't mind being photographed by the paparazzi, but it was different for the little girl.
She was still a student, and he couldn't let her personal life be affected because of him.
In case they encountered some extreme fans, he worried it might not be good for her.
