Chapter 3 - Owen Regulus [2]

Owen Regulus, that's the name of the character I had been transmigrated into.

In the beginning of the novel, Owen was introduced as minor villain. I mean he was only meant to create obstacles for protagonist and his companion or to just simply serve as the tool for their character development.

But as the novel reached volume 5 his minor role changed into major as he became the main antagonist of the volume.

He was also belonged to a prestigious lineage.

He belonged to one of the Four Primordial families also known as the ruling family of human nation. Specifically, he came from the Chaos Family.

Owen Regulus. If you know him, you will know he was as true prodigy.

If we take only the innate talent as measure, he even rivals the protagonist. No, not only rivals his talent was even greater than MC.

He was cherished and admired unconditionally inside and outside of the family. His extraordinary talents were a source of his pride.

If we talk about his personality, he was an absolute arrogant person He was surrounded by an aura that makes the people around him feel as if they were some insignificant being that they simply didn't matter to him.

From his first breath, he had been born into a life of privilege and luxury. He was provided with every comfort in life. There is a saying for the people like them 'born with a golden spoon'.

As someone growing up in in this kind environment, it nearly impossible for Owen to not develop a certain amount arrogance. He felt like the world revolve around him.

This feeling made him believe that the he is superior to those around him

It was his character flaw that influenced his relationships with people.

As throughout his life he was never felt inferior among the people around his age, there was no one who could rival him until he met the MC.

But for the first time in his life, he felt discomfort.

Despite his best efforts, he was never able to surpass him.

It was a bitter pill for Owen to swallow.

As no matter how hard he trained, no matter how much he tried, he couldn't surpass protagonist.

This comparison and the gap which is increasing and increasing between their abilities was causing him a lot of frustration.

He couldn't stand the thought of someone overshadowing him, especially someone he never heard of before.

Owen's hostility towards MC was a driving force behind his reason that he turned into an antagonist.

He then was filled with unsettled emotions of envy and rivalry.

As his hatred and desire for power consumed him, he made a unchangeable decision.

He was blinded by his obsession to grow stronger than MC, he resorted to use a forbidden skill called Oblivion Ascendancy. This skill was sealed away by his family due to how dangerous it was.

Well, the consequence was catastrophic.

Although this skill did grant the Owen an incredible amount of boost in stats and abilities but it came with a huge price.

This skill takes something from the user for activating it. This forbidden skill took away of his humanity.

Oblivion Ascendancy. Stripped him of his humanity, erasing his intelligence and leaving behind an emotionless killing machine.

Driven solely for one purpose to kill the protagonist and his companions.

His actions led him to target the academy where protagonist was.

As the academy came under his attack, protagonist and his companions were forced to face Owen who now was tuned into deadly emotionless killing machine.

They fought fiercely against Owen. They tried to talk him out to stop his attack but he was not stopping and continuing attack them. So, they had no choice left for them but to defeat him even if they had to kill him.

"Does that mean I have the meet my end at the hands of MC?"

Of course not. I won't meet my end from him. Reason? Nothing special he died because his jealousy towards him. But I am not him, I am not Owen.

Escaping the death from the protagonist was very simple.

And I will try my best keep any kind of relationship with the protagonist and his allies to a bare minimum.

The less one gets associated with protagonist of the novel, the better their chances of escaping the dangerous situations that often came by their way.

Now about surviving in this war-filled world where your lives are in constant danger. And as the story progress there will be devasting war engulfing the whole world into destruction and chaos.

The humanity was destined to perish in the middle of this apocalyptic war and I need to prepare for this.

I need to be strong. I am not nearly enough strong to survive that war.

Actually, scratch that. Even strong people can't survive the upcoming final war. I need to be super-duper ultra strong to survive.

I glanced at the smartwatch on my wrist.

00:04 . Feb 14, 2755.

My classes in the academy will start on 1 March 2755. That means I have exactly 15 days left for it.

I need to adapt this body. Even though Owen's stats are impressive for his age But I have been thrown into body of stranger. His strength won't do me any good if I don't know how to use it.

These 15 days I all I have to make this body mine.

Plus, with that I am also thinking of acquiring, yes acquiring not stealing, a relic or you could say a cheat item which will be found by protagonist in the future.

Our protagonist is already incredibly overpowered and is going to acquire numerous relics throughout the plotline.

I don't think if I steal one or two extra items from his list would make a significant difference to him.

So real question now is, which relic should I choose?

Oh, I remembered there was this thing. A cheat relic that was never ever used by the protagonist throughout the novel. If you someone want to know the reason well probably because he forgot he actually had this relic as he already had similar relic beforehand

And the most interesting part was he was not even finding that relic. He just gets that relic as cherry on top. He went there for entirely different reason.

Sometimes I think he doesn't need to find the relics as relic were finding him.

Well. That relic won't be providing me any kind of defensive or offensive power but if I use that relic correctly it will help me a lot.

It's midnight right now, , the first thing tomorrow I will do is to go after this relic.
